What is cosmetic tattooing?

Experience the most innovative micropigmentation (cosmetic tattooing) by our fully accredited qualified brow artist & brow boss Shelley. Using state-of-the-art methods to create realistic and perfectly shaped eyebrows of your dreams. Wake up with perfect full brows every single day.

First, we create the perfect shape and dimensions to suit your individual personal features as no two clients have the same brow design. Using state-of-the-art digitally controlled micropigmentation machine, needles and pigment to create a more permanent effect than traditional tattooing.

On top of microblading we offer nanoblading. While both offer fine hair strokes that look natural, nanoblading provides further precision and accuracy because it uses needles, compacted together into an ultra fine blad.

Cosmetic tattooing is a two-stage process and requires a touch-up at around 4-6 weeks which is included in the price. We use only the highest quality pigments.

Prior consultation is required and can be for the same day as your treatment day. We need to check your current health, discuss eyebrow design and shape and choose the right colour.

A free skin test patch is highly recommended and must be booked at least 3 days prior to your treatment. Book your appointment today.

What are feather touch brows?

At Brows Australia we use two different methods for feather touch brows; Microblading Feather Touch Brows $480
Microblading (manual hairstrokes) creates the most natural hairstrokes by using a hand-tool with a cluster of specialised fine needles to create hair like strokes in the skin that blends with your natural hair growth pattern. This is great for clients looking for something very natural. Best for those;

  • Who have thin or patchy brows
  • Wants a subtle shape enhancement
Not everyone is suitable for microblading. And that is where the Nano/Machine Hair Strokes comes in. Duration 2 hrs 30 mins. Nano Machine Hair Strokes Feather Touch Brows $580
This is an advanced technique which gives the effect of ultra-fine, delicate hairstrokes that mimic the natural brow hair growth and blend beautifully with the natural eyebrow hair by using a digital machine with NANO NEEDLES. Using state-of-the-art digitally controlled micropigmentation machine, needles and pigment to create a more permanent effect than traditional microblading. Shelley will select the size of the needle and exact depth of penetration. This allows a much higher degree of precision than standard cosmetic tattooing and a consistent distribution of pigment. The Nano technique is suitable for any skin type and age. Duration 3 hours. Check out our services.

What are ombre/powder brows?

Ombre/Powder brows are less invasive to the skin as we use the Nano digital machine to create micro puncture rather than a micro cut. The pigment is dispersed across the skin in a shading effect.
This method is also less painful because we use the Nano needle just working on the epidermis layer of the skin. And they also last longer. The results do vary depending on your skin type, home care and lifestyle.
Unlike microblading this method is suitable for oily skin and does not require multiple touch-ups which means less trauma to the skin. Ombré brows is gradual gradient of shading throughout the brows. The brows will be darker and more defined in the body and tail of the brow with a lighter shade at the head. This is for those wanting fuller brows that are more intense with a crisp outline. Think ‘Instagram’ brows that mimics the look of filled in brows with makeup. This look is created using the Nano digital tattoo machine with shading needles.
Duration 3 hrs 30 mins Powder brows uses the Nano digital tattoo machine with shading needles that is softer with a shading powdery finish. The brows will look solid and powdery with pigments dispersed evenly all the way on the eyebrows. This is perfect for those wanting natural looking powder effect.

What are hybrid/combination 3D brows?

We combine two different methods using shading and hairstrokes to give you a natural 3D long lasting look. This method is suitable for most skin types including sensitive and oily skin types. Between you and us it’s our favourite. Because we use two different methods (shading & hairstrokes) it gives you a more natural 3D look. The shading means you get more durability rather than just hairstrokes. All brows are customised specifically for each individual client and based on your desired look, skin type, colour and bone structure This method is best for those with little or no eyebrow hair. 3D Microblading & Shading $580
Microbladed hair strokes and a powder fill gives you an incredibly natural looking brow. It’s a bit more defined and filled in than just straight microbladed brows and a less dramatic than ombre powder fill 3D Nano Hybrid Brows $680
Nanoblading uses ultra-sharp nano needles that can actually minic the diameter and dimension of a real hair in the skin. It’s not as deep as microblading as you only go through the top layer of the skin into the upper dermis. Duration 2 hrs 30 mins. Visit the shop and schedule your appointment at your convenience.

  • Discontinue active skincare 1-2 weeks before – vitamin A, chemical peels etc
  • Cosmetic botox or fillers should be done 3 weeks prior or 2 weeks after
  • Stop taking fish oil 7 days prior
  • Bring samples of the brow shapes you like
  • We will not tattoo over any sores or moles in or around the brow area

Does it hurt?

The short answer is yes, but it does depend on your pain threshold. We will numb the area to minimise sensitivity.

What is the after care for cosmetic tattooing?

This is now your important part in the process of getting the brows your desire. How you take care over the next 10-14 days will determine the final appearance and longevity of your new brows. The healing period is 10-14 days but please note it can take up to 30 days for the procedure area to completely heal. After the topical anesthetic wears off you may feel some tenderness on and around the tattooed area. You may have slight swelling and redness, this is normal and typically fades within 24-48 hours. At this point you may take Panadol but don’t have Aspirin or Ibuprofen as it can cause blood thinning Firstly, DON’T WORRY your eyebrows will look very dark immediately proceeding treatment. The colour will fade 30-50% when healed and look much more natural. Remember this is a two-step process and your brows...

  • The first 24 hours of healing is critical to ensure the best possible healed results.
  • Ensure that your brows do not come into contact with water and sweat as pigment can be washed out of the procedure area during this time frame.
  • Swelling and redness is usual.
  • After the first 24 hours and throughout the healing period, please apply only enough aftercare to hydrate your brows, 1-2 times daily. Your brows should not have visible aftercare build up as this can hinder the healing process. Always apply aftercare with clean cotton bud to reduce the risk of infection.
  • Flaking and/or crusting may occur as the skin heals. Picking at the procedure area will cause loss of pigment and can potentially cause scarring. Refrain from touching the procedure area, except when applying aftercare.
  • During the healing period minimal contact with water is recommended. Avoid putting the procedure area directly into water or any water stream and avoid cleansing the brow area when washing your face.
  • Please avoid makeup on or around the procedure area during the healing process. If makeup touches the procedure area it can increase the risk of infection and cause discolouration of the pigment. After your brows have healed, you are welcome to apply makeup on or around the area. aftercare
  • Pools, saunas, hot yoga, tanning, spray tans, excess sweating and facials should be avoided during the healing period.
  • Botox and Filler treatments should be avoided for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks following your appointment.
  • Avoid Laser treatments around or on the procedure as there is a risk of altering the colour and lightening the pigment (both during the healing period and after). If facial surgery is being considered it is advised to be fully healed prior to your Microblading or Micropigmentation appointment.
  • Skincare products containing retinol or any chemical exfoliants should not be used prior or post-procedure as they may fade and possibly distort the procedure area.
  • Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to the pigment fading faster.
  • After the healing process it is recommended to apply sunscreen daily to protect the procedure area from fading or discolouring (SPF 50 or higher is recommended). Please be advised that after the procedure area has healed it may be more prone to sunburn for up to 8 weeks post procedure.
  • After the procedure area heals a Touch Up appointment will be required. The process is not considered complete without the Initial Touch Up (some clients do require additional Touch Ups depending on skin type, texture and aftercare routine).
  • Your Touch Up should be booked 4-8 weeks after your initial appointment to ensure there is no remaining sensitivity in the procedure area.
  • After the initial healing period and once any flakes or crusting has fallen off, your brows may appear shiny and strokes may appear light or barely visible. Within 1-3 weeks the pigment will slowly reappear as the skin regenerates. Any pigment that has not returned at this point will be addressed at your Initial Touch Up appointment.
  • Light physical exfoliation can be done at this point to encourage brightening of the pigment and to address any lingering dryness in the procedure area.
If you have any questions or concerns following your appointment, please email us at or phone 03 63344885. See you at your Touch Up!

Red light targets the dermal layers, providing excellent results in collagen and elastin synthesis. Near-infrared light is able to penetrate even deeper in the dermis - reaching the subcutaneous layer of the skin and muscle to enable deep tissue repair and cellular regeneration. Near-Infrared increases bibroblast proliferation in wound healing, leading to improved tissue remodelling and enhanced tensile strenght. Activiates fibroblasts for increased collagen and elastin sysnthesis. Reduces collagen degrading enzymes (MMP's). Triggers wound healing response to celluar repair and controls sweeling and erythema in wound healing. Reduces post procedure pain and discomfort. Both can be used in a treatment session for Age Reduction - fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, skin laxity.

What are the contraindications that prohibit LED treatments taking place?

Discoid Lupus - 2/3 of people with lupus have increased sensitivity to light. Anti-arthritic Medication - Anti-arthritic medications can cause the skin to be much more sensitive to light (Ridaura, Gold 50). Epilepsy - for about 3% of people with epilespy, exposure to flashing lights at certain intensities or certain visual patterns can trigger seizures. Photosensitive disorders such as Porphyria, Lupus erthematosus, photosensitive eczema and albinism. Contagious diseases - impetiog, sacabiles, chicken pox, mumps. This industry leading micro-needling technology is German engineered and listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Comfortable Treatment,

Who can have Skin Needling?

Skin Needling can be performed on almost anyone however, we do adhere to strict health and safety protocols and this means we require you to undergo a Skin Health Assessment and be using prescribed home care products prior to skin needling. This ensures that; 1) there are no contraindications we need to overcome and 2) that your skin is actually healthy and ready to undergo such a treatment. There are clinics that will happily needle your skin with no preparation whatsoever and with very little care. We feel this is grossly unprofessional and negligent and refuse to do this. We require you to book in for a consult as a new client for skin needling

Does Skin Needling Hurt?

Whilst everyone’s tolerance for pain is different, the simple answer is quite simply no, it doesn’t hurt. With our high level of training and the precision of the medical grade eDermastamp microneedling device, it results in your treatments being comfortable and highly effective while pain is kept to a minimum. No, topical anaesthetic or numbing cream is not used and we advise against it. We continually undergo advanced skin needling training that allows us to perform the treatment in a way that eliminates most pain. Not only can anaesthetic counter the effectiveness of the treatment, but it can have some serious side effects. Anaesthetic toxicity is one issue, but the potential for allergic reactions is perhaps a greater concern. While the chance of allergic reactions are low, the risks outweigh the rewards.

When Will I see Results?

Visible improvement to the skin can be seen in as little as 13 days post treatment.

Deeper skin concerns such as uneven skin tone and texture, fine lines and acne scarring will improve with the collagen regeneration process and are generally visible 2-4 weeks following treatment. Most dramatic results will occur 6-12 weeks post-treatment.

What happens after my eDermastamp treatment?

Most clients experience redness and minor pin-point bleeding immediately after a skin needling treatment. Post-treatment redness may appear like a mild sunburn and last 1-3 days.

After you have undergone your skin needling procedure, stay out of the sun and do not apply any sunscreen, due to the toxins that may be contained in the lotion. Post procedure, the skin channels are completely open, and any toxins contained in topical applicants may be harmful to you. DO NOT USE ANY “ACTIVE INGREDIENT” SKIN PRODUCTS Post procedure, avoid any skin care product that has active ingredients. These commonly include things like Alpha Hydroxyl Acids, Retinol and other similar agents. The skin will be highly sensitive and these products will only irritate the it further. USE COLLAGEN STIMULATING PEPTIDES As microneedling serves to stimulate the production of collagen, the skin needs higher amounts of collagen than normal to recover optimally. Collagen Stimulating Peptides assist in that process, further aiding in the stimulation of collagen production. AVOID THE USE OF MAKEUP AFTER TREATMENT It is imperative that you let your skin “breathe” and recover for 24 hours after the procedure. The skin channels are open, and using a makeup brush can penetrate the pores, especially if they are very thin, causing further irritation. Using a makeup brush that has been used before can contaminate the skin and, consequently, lead to infections. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you apply face makeup to give your skin the necessary recovery time. USE A COOLING FACE MASK You may experience some skin inflammation or redness. Using a cooling mask will help reduce the inflammation or redness of the skin, giving you more comfort. USE AN ANTIOXIDANT SERUM Antioxidant serums have properties that assist in healing the skin. Serums assist in soothing the skin and further reduce irritation. AVOID SWEATING As you sweat the pores of your skin will reopen, and the bacteria on your skin may enter the skin punctures. This can lead to a either a reaction or infection. DRINK WATER It is important to stay hydrated before and after your procedure to help your skin heal and rejuvenate faster.

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure where vitamins, minerals, enzymes & peptides cocktails are delivered into the mesodermal layer of the skin using micro needling with nano needles. The micro needling allows the pores in the skin to open so the meso cocktail can infuse and absorb into your skin. This infusion of ingredients nourishes and rejuvenates the skin while also stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, both essential for skin’s natural elasticity. Mesotherapy has a triple effect on the treated area. It provides physical stimulation produced by the effect of the needle (mechanical stimulation), delivers pharmacological action of the solution or specific cocktail of active ingredients administered and provides activation of a greater number of skin receptors thanks to the micro dosing of the applied solution. It also provides flexibility based in need: what is infused will depend on the concern being treated. For example, if the goal is to rejuvenate your skin in general, we will use a solution that includes growth factors, peptides, vitamins, hyaluronic acid and more. Mesotherapy is combined with collagen stimulation, the results supersede standard microneedling results. This natural and safe non-surgical treatment offers impressive results with general skin rejuvenation, brightness and clarity. Our mesotherapy cocktails from Mesoestetic contain evidence based solutions to target multiple skin concerns such as: Dryness and dehydration Uneven skin texture Pigmentation Skin laxity and sagging Puffiness and localised fat Cellulite Scarring Acne and congestion Sun damage and ageing skin

How Does Cosmelan® work?

Reduce the appearance of pigmentation by up to 95% The Cosmelan Method comprehensively targets, treats and reduces pigmentation with a unique, two-fold action. By regulating the source of pigmentation and targeting the existing melanin formed, Cosmelan helps to reduce the appearance of dark spots, blemishes and pigmentation irregularities. Cosmelan is a professional depigmentation peel system. It is a two-phase process with the first step performed in the clinic. The Cosmelan 1 peel is applied to the face and left on for 8-12 hours. This initiates a process of intense skin shedding and ejects the pigment from the skin over a week period. After 7 days the second step is to start using the included Cosmelan 2 is applied to prevent reoccurrence and is required for 6 months. This is a tyrosinase inhibitor, which works by sedating the production of excess melanin. The treatment also includes a 12 week home care program of cleanser, moisturisers and sunscreen.

What is the recovery time after Cosmelan Treatment?

There is no downtime or discomfort. You are required to keep the treatment on the face for 6-10 hours. You will will have some redness like a light sunburn for 24 hours. On the 3rd or 4th day intense skin shedding will occur. You may wear tinted moisturiser 48 hours after the treatment

How many cosmelan treatments are required?

Only 1 Cosmelan Professional Treatment is required to see results. 6 monthly treatments may be required for severe cases of melasma. The melasma condition may come back if the underlying triggers are still present therefore Cosmelan Professional treatment is a management solution.

How Long Does Cosmelan Take?

Cosmelan Pigmentation Program is a 6-month commitment to your skin! It starts with skin at-home preparation, followed by the in-clinic application of the Cosmelan Mask (Peel) – which is a fast and effective 40 minute treatment. This is left on the skin for the required time (8-12 hours, as per skin phototype and instructed by our expert skin specialiset) and removed at home. The remaining 6 months of your program is completed mostly within the comfort of your own home – with the exception of your LED Light Therapy treatment and any additional treatments you elect to have.

When is the best time to do Cosmelan®?

Cosmelan® can be used at any time of the year, though it is advisable to do it at times when sun exposure is not so intense or prolonged, such as the winter and autumn. In case you live in a hot region or apply the treatment in the summer, you must take greater care and use a very high sunscreen, such as melan 130+ pigment control and avoid completely very intense and prolonged sun exposure.

What happens if I stop applying the home treatment?

If you do not follow the home regimen, you are interrupting the treatment and will therefore not obtain the expected results. Not applying cosmelan 2 depigmenting cream with regulating action involves not regulating the melanocyte and, therefore, a persistent uncontrolled, excessive production of melanin. The spot will reappear as the skin layers are renewed, as melanin migrates to the surface making the spot increasingly evident. Not using photoprotection, melan 130+ pigment control, involves a very high risk that the spot returns, as skin is more sensitive and receptive to external aggressions during the treatment.

How long does it take to see results? Why should I continue the treatment when I ready see results?

The most significant change takes place a few weeks after applying the mask in cabin, it improves skin texture and spots decrease noticeably. This can give a misleading feeling of success. During this period melanin has been removed from the outermost skin layers, and therefore we see the spot much more faded and the skin smoother and softer, but the origin of the problem has not been controlled yet. The melanocyte, a cell where melanin is produced, is still uncontrolled and continues to produce pigment (melanin) in excess. To re-educate the melanocyte and control this overproduction, it is important to continue a home treatment with regulating action, so that the cell returns to a normal active state and therefore prevent spots from reappearing.
