What is cosmetic tattooing?
Experience the most innovative micropigmentation (cosmetic tattooing) by our fully accredited qualified brow artist & brow boss Shelley. Using state-of-the-art methods to create realistic and perfectly shaped eyebrows of your dreams. Wake up with perfect full brows every single day.
First, we create the perfect shape and dimensions to suit your individual personal features as no two clients have the same brow design. Using state-of-the-art digitally controlled micropigmentation machine, needles and pigment to create a more permanent effect than traditional tattooing.
On top of microblading we offer nanoblading. While both offer fine hair strokes that look natural, nanoblading provides further precision and accuracy because it uses needles, compacted together into an ultra fine blad.
Cosmetic tattooing is a two-stage process and requires a touch-up at around 4-6 weeks which is included in the price. We use only the highest quality pigments.
Prior consultation is required and can be for the same day as your treatment day. We need to check your current health, discuss eyebrow design and shape and choose the right colour.
A free skin test patch is highly recommended and must be booked at least 3 days prior to your treatment. Book your appointment today.
What are feather touch brows?
At Brows Australia we use two different methods for feather touch brows;
Microblading (manual hairstrokes) creates the most natural hairstrokes by using a hand-tool with a cluster of specialised fine needles to create hair like strokes in the skin that blends with your natural hair growth pattern. This is great for clients looking for something very natural.
-
Who have thin or patchy brows -
Wants a subtle shape enhancement
This is an advanced technique which gives the effect of ultra-fine, delicate hairstrokes that mimic the natural brow hair growth and blend beautifully with the natural eyebrow hair by using a digital machine with NANO NEEDLES. Using state-of-the-art digitally controlled micropigmentation machine, needles and pigment to create a more permanent effect than traditional microblading. Shelley will select the size of the needle and exact depth of penetration. This allows a much higher degree of precision than standard cosmetic tattooing and a consistent distribution of pigment.
What are ombre/powder brows?
Ombre/Powder brows are less invasive to the skin as we use the Nano digital machine to create micro puncture rather than a micro cut. The pigment is dispersed across the skin in a shading effect.
This method is also less painful because we use the Nano needle just working on the epidermis layer of the skin. And they also last longer. The results do vary depending on your skin type, home care and lifestyle.
Unlike microblading this method is suitable for oily skin and does not require multiple touch-ups which means less trauma to the skin.

What are hybrid/combination 3D brows?
We combine two different methods using shading and hairstrokes to give you a natural 3D long lasting look.
Microbladed hair strokes and a powder fill gives you an incredibly natural looking brow. It’s a bit more defined and filled in than just straight microbladed brows and a less dramatic than ombre powder fill
Nanoblading uses ultra-sharp nano needles that can actually minic the diameter and dimension of a real hair in the skin. It’s not as deep as microblading as you only go through the top layer of the skin into the upper dermis.

What is the after care for cosmetic tattooing?
This is now your important part in the process of getting the brows your desire. How you take care over the next 10-14 days will determine the final appearance and longevity of your new brows. The healing period is 10-14 days but please note it can take up to 30 days for the procedure area to completely heal.
-
The first 24 hours of healing is critical to ensure the best possible healed results. -
Ensure that your brows do not come into contact with water and sweat as pigment can be washed out of the procedure area during this time frame. -
Swelling and redness is usual. -
After the first 24 hours and throughout the healing period, please apply only enough aftercare to hydrate your brows, 1-2 times daily. Your brows should not have visible aftercare build up as this can hinder the healing process. Always apply aftercare with clean cotton bud to reduce the risk of infection. -
Flaking and/or crusting may occur as the skin heals. Picking at the procedure area will cause loss of pigment and can potentially cause scarring. Refrain from touching the procedure area, except when applying aftercare. -
During the healing period minimal contact with water is recommended. Avoid putting the procedure area directly into water or any water stream and avoid cleansing the brow area when washing your face. -
Please avoid makeup on or around the procedure area during the healing process. If makeup touches the procedure area it can increase the risk of infection and cause discolouration of the pigment. After your brows have healed, you are welcome to apply makeup on or around the area. aftercare -
Pools, saunas, hot yoga, tanning, spray tans, excess sweating and facials should be avoided during the healing period. -
Botox and Filler treatments should be avoided for 2 weeks prior and 2 weeks following your appointment. -
Avoid Laser treatments around or on the procedure as there is a risk of altering the colour and lightening the pigment (both during the healing period and after). If facial surgery is being considered it is advised to be fully healed prior to your Microblading or Micropigmentation appointment. -
Skincare products containing retinol or any chemical exfoliants should not be used prior or post-procedure as they may fade and possibly distort the procedure area. -
Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can lead to the pigment fading faster. -
After the healing process it is recommended to apply sunscreen daily to protect the procedure area from fading or discolouring (SPF 50 or higher is recommended). Please be advised that after the procedure area has healed it may be more prone to sunburn for up to 8 weeks post procedure. -
After the procedure area heals a Touch Up appointment will be required. The process is not considered complete without the Initial Touch Up (some clients do require additional Touch Ups depending on skin type, texture and aftercare routine). -
Your Touch Up should be booked 4-8 weeks after your initial appointment to ensure there is no remaining sensitivity in the procedure area. -
After the initial healing period and once any flakes or crusting has fallen off, your brows may appear shiny and strokes may appear light or barely visible. Within 1-3 weeks the pigment will slowly reappear as the skin regenerates. Any pigment that has not returned at this point will be addressed at your Initial Touch Up appointment. -
Light physical exfoliation can be done at this point to encourage brightening of the pigment and to address any lingering dryness in the procedure area.
